Medical Mistakes

Return to Link Index

Unfortunately, mistakes do occur in health care. It is not the claim of this website that we can reduce mistakes, but you should be informed.

Perhaps the most concerning issue is the culture of “non-disclosure” in our system- that is, when mistakes do occur, our health care system has been designed to hide or “talk around” the issue in order to reduce liability.

Interestingly, what is emerging is an understanding that when patients feel they were told the truth, and when the provider simply apologizes, the number of lawsuits falls dramatically.
