Understanding What is Covered and What is Not

Return to Link Index

Even if you have health insurance, the item or service you need may not always be covered. This may be because there are restrictions on your policy. But it may also be because some of your needs, such as specially prepared foods or modifications to your environment, may not be considered a health care expense.

Also, do not assume that because the initial service is covered (like a surgery), that all related items are covered (like ointments and bandages after you leave the hospital).
